Cookie Policy
Effective Date: March 18, 2026
This Cookie Policy explains how Martian Grow (“we,” “us,” or “our”) uses cookies and similar tracking technologies when you visit our website at martiangrow.com (the “Services”). It should be read alongside our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service, which are available on our website.
1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files that are placed on your device (computer, tablet, or smartphone) when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work, function more efficiently, and to provide information to website operators.
In addition to cookies, we may also use related technologies such as:
Web beacons (pixel tags): Tiny transparent images embedded in web pages or emails that allow us to detect when a page has been viewed or an email has been opened.
Local storage: Browser-based storage mechanisms that allow data to be stored locally on your device between sessions.
Session storage: Similar to local storage but limited to a single browsing session.
Scripts: Pieces of code that run in your browser and may collect information about your interaction with the Services.
References to “cookies” in this policy include all of the above technologies unless otherwise specified.
2. Why We Use Cookies
We use cookies to:
Ensure the Services function correctly and securely;
Remember your preferences and settings;
Understand how visitors use the Services so we can improve them;
Analyse traffic patterns and measure the performance of our content;
Comply with legal obligations where applicable.
We do not use cookies to serve targeted advertising or to build advertising profiles. If this changes, we will update this policy and seek your consent where required.
3. Categories of Cookies We Use
We classify the cookies used on the Services into the following four categories, consistent with the guidance of the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), the European Data Protection Board (EDPB), and the Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB):
3.1 Strictly Necessary Cookies
These cookies are essential to enable you to navigate the Services and use their features. Without these cookies, services you have requested (such as contact forms or secure page access) cannot be provided.
Legal basis: These cookies do not require your consent as they are strictly necessary for the provision of the service. They cannot be disabled through our cookie preference centre.

3.2 Performance and Analytics Cookies
These cookies collect information about how visitors use the Services, including which pages are visited most often and whether visitors receive error messages. This data is used solely to improve how the Services function. All information collected by these cookies is aggregated and, where possible, anonymised.
Legal basis: Consent. These cookies are only set if you accept analytics cookies through our cookie preference centre.

| _gat | Google Analytics | HTTP Cookie | Throttles request rate to Google Analytics | 1 minute |
We use Google Analytics with IP anonymisation enabled. Google acts as a data processor on our behalf. For further information on how Google processes this data, please refer to Google’s privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy.
3.3 Functional Cookies
These cookies allow the Services to remember choices you make (such as your preferred language or region) and provide enhanced, more personalised features. They may also be used to provide services you have asked for, such as watching a video or using a contact form.
Legal basis: Consent. These cookies are only set if you accept functional cookies through our cookie preference centre.

|---|---|---|---|---|
| lang_pref | Martian Grow | HTTP Cookie | Remembers user language or region preference | 12 months |
| ui_state | Martian Grow | Local Storage | Stores UI preferences such as expanded/collapsed sections | Persistent |
3.4 Marketing and Targeting Cookies
Marketing and targeting cookies are used to deliver advertisements relevant to you and your interests, and to measure the effectiveness of advertising campaigns.
We do not currently use marketing or targeting cookies on the Services. No cookies in this category are set on martiangrow.com at this time.
If we introduce marketing cookies in the future, we will update this Cookie Policy, provide full disclosure of the cookies used, and seek your prior consent before setting any such cookies.
4. Third-Party Cookies
Some cookies on the Services are set by third parties acting as data controllers in their own right. We do not control these cookies and they are subject to the privacy policies of those third parties. The third-party services we currently use that may set cookies include:
Google Analytics (Google LLC): For website usage analytics. Governed by Google's Privacy Policy at policies.google.com/privacy.
Content delivery network (CDN) providers: May set technical cookies required for secure and performant content delivery.
We regularly review our use of third-party services and will update this policy accordingly.
5. Cookie Consent and Your Choices
5.1 How We Obtain Consent
When you first visit the Services, you will be presented with a cookie consent banner that allows you to:
Accept all cookies;
Accept only strictly necessary cookies;
Customise your preferences by category.
Strictly necessary cookies are set automatically as they are required for the Services to function. All other categories of cookies require your affirmative consent before being set. We do not rely on pre-ticked boxes, implied consent, or consent buried in terms and conditions.
5.2 Withdrawing Consent
You may withdraw or change your cookie consent at any time by:
Clicking the “Cookie Preferences” link in the footer of any page on the Services;
Clearing cookies in your browser settings (see Section 5.3 below).
Withdrawing consent will not affect the lawfulness of any processing that took place before withdrawal.
5.3 Managing Cookies Through Your Browser
You can also control and delete cookies directly through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to:
View the cookies that have been set;
Block cookies from being set;
Delete cookies that have already been set.
Browser-specific instructions for managing cookies are available at the following links:
Google Chrome: support.google.com/chrome/answer/95647
Mozilla Firefox: support.mozilla.org/kb/enhanced-tracking-protection-firefox-desktop
Apple Safari: support.apple.com/guide/safari/manage-cookies-sfri11471
Microsoft Edge: support.microsoft.com/microsoft-edge/delete-cookies-in-microsoft-edge
Please note that disabling or deleting cookies may affect your ability to use certain features of the Services. Strictly necessary cookies cannot be opted out of through the Services, though they can be deleted through your browser.
5.4 Opt-Out Tools for Analytics
To opt out of Google Analytics tracking specifically, you may use the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on, available at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout. This add-on prevents the Google Analytics JavaScript from sharing information about your visit with Google Analytics.
6. Do Not Track
Some browsers have a “Do Not Track” (DNT) feature that signals to websites that you do not want your online activity tracked. There is currently no universally agreed standard for how websites should respond to DNT signals.
At present, the Services do not alter their behaviour in response to DNT signals. We will keep this position under review as industry standards and regulatory guidance develop. In the meantime, you can manage your tracking preferences using the cookie consent mechanisms described in Section 5.
7. Cookie Retention Periods
Cookies fall into two categories based on duration:
Session cookies: These are temporary cookies that exist only for the duration of your browsing session and are deleted when you close your browser. They are used to maintain the continuity of your visit (for example, maintaining the state of a contact form).
Persistent cookies: These cookies remain on your device after your browser is closed, for a defined period of time. They are used to remember your preferences and settings, or to collect analytics data across multiple visits. The retention period for each persistent cookie is set out in the cookie tables in Section 3.
8. International Transfers via Cookies
Some of the third-party services we use (such as Google Analytics) may transfer data collected through cookies to servers located outside the European Economic Area (EEA) or United Kingdom. Where such transfers occur, they are subject to appropriate safeguards as described in our Privacy Policy (Section 6).
By accepting analytics or functional cookies, you acknowledge that data may be processed outside your country of residence. If you do not wish for this to occur, you may decline those cookie categories through our cookie preference centre.
9. Updates to This Cookie Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the cookies we use, changes in applicable law, or improvements to our practices. When we make material changes, we will:
Update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page;
Display a notice on the Services where appropriate;
Re-seek your consent where the changes affect cookies for which consent is required.
We encourage you to review this Cookie Policy periodically so that you are aware of how we are using cookies.
