Atlas Seed is a Northern California farm-based cannabis genetics company founded by UC Santa Cruz agriculture alumni who ran a successful vegetable operation for over a decade before bringing cannabis into a standard agricultural production system. The company's tagline, "Cannabis Bred for Agriculture," reflects its core mission: breeding for uniformity, high performance, and scalable production.
Atlas was first to market with feminized F1 hybrid cannabis autoflowers. Every seed in their catalogue has been grown out through their performance breeding program, where they inbreed parental lines and then outcross them into feminized F1 hybrid cultivars. Their autoflower (day-neutral) varieties are hand-selected for specific potency, mold resistance, and vigor, designed to thrive in diverse environments from controlled indoor facilities to open-field agriculture.
Atlas represents the agricultural end of the cannabis genetics spectrum: where heritage breeders select for terroir and flavor, Atlas selects for uniformity, predictability, and yield at scale.
